we have started working on getting our house ready to sell. {oh yeah, we bought a house, and are moving, by the way}.

so jillian helped with the pantry.

pizza pizza!!

we had pizza the other night, and decided to scrape the cheese off, and let have jillian have a bite. she ended up eating a whole piece of pizza!


and she enjoyed it quite a bit.


she'll fit in our family nicely.

valentines..

{a few days late, because it's what i do}

this year, we decided to do valentines very low key.

we went to dinner last weekend, sans jillian. nothing fancy, but so nice to get away.

and determined that we would get eachother zero gifts. no reason, but just to be simple.

well, kyle broke the law, and got me flowers AND donuts! {i should've known}

so today, i went to the store and got him cokes and candy.

and we're all a happy couple again. {well, not that we weren't. now we're just even.}

we took zero pictures on/around valentines, so i just uploaded random pictures from our dating lives back in high school. we look like 8 years old!

the first picture was from our first valentines day together. it snowed and our parents made us stay home, so we just hung out and played in the snow.

i love that you're ok with me loving simple things, and not always going for the fancy plans.

i love that we're just as happy with cokes, donuts, and candy, rather than expensive gifts.

i love that we're so alike, yet different as day and night.


that you know i make zero sense a lot of the time, and you're ok with that.

ten months!

double digit months.

that only means one thing, we are very close to a first birthday. and that cannot be possible.

i'm late posting this, mostly because i just haven't gotten around to taken J's pictures. I actually wrote the post, sans pictures, 2 weeks ago, so i'm having to come back in and edit the small details of her now life.


this month, we all shared a stomach virus, lovely. poor jillie - it was so sad to see her throwing up. then we thought she had ear infections {all the signs there}, so we went to the doctor, and they said her ears looked perfect! {don't you hate that!?} having to take home a super fussy baby with no reason for it.

but i think we're all past that. J has been sleeping better and seems to finally have her appetite back. she has actually been sleeping past her 6 am feeding and sleeping all the way to 9-10! Praise the Lord!

and she is now back to her crazy, bouncing off the wall self. another person told me this week "i don't think i've ever seen a baby her age with that much energy". if i had a dollar every time i heard that!

the girl has more personality than most adults i know.


she has become so vocal. well, she always has been pretty "talkative", but now she talks all day long! non stop. and she's hilarious!

i'm watching her right now play with her baby doll. she just started noticing it as a "different toy" within the last couple of days. you know how girls play with dolls differently? she will just sit and hold it, then pick it up and "kiss" her face, then put it back in her lap. she'll rock it and "pat" her bottom {sometimes a little violent, but still sweet}. it's so funny/interesting to watch how they know so early!

she has started walking! she took her first steps on feb.10th. she can walk about 6 feet before falling down, and she usually starts off that way, then ends up crawling to wherever she "needs" to go. it won't be too long before she's running around!

she is so social and loves to be around her 'friends' {mostly just cousins}. but it's so funny to watch her squeal/scream with delight when she sees them. so sweet.

since we have been expecting another baby, i've almost been feeling kind of guilty, that she won't be the baby anymore. {i hear tons feel this way}. and it makes me sad that she's growing up so fast and we're adding another one right behind her. but it seems in the last couple weeks she has become a tiny bit more cuddly {from zero cuddly}. she'll let me hold her and watch tv for like 5 minutes - which is a big jump. and let me rock her to sleep.

so i'm cherishing these sweet times, while she is still the only one i have to rock now. and even a teeny tiny bit happy when she wakes up in the night and i get to go in and rock her {as long as she goes right back to sleep - if not, that's another story =) }

it's definitely just going too fast for my liking!


but i am loving this stage! she's so much fun!

it's true!

we found out some exciting news and we are beyond thrilled!

we thought about waiting to tell people, but we were too excited to keep it to ourselves, and we love for everyone to know!

jillian was wearing this shirt when kyle got home from work today.

then we took her to both are parents with her wearing it.


it's looking like jillian and baby #2 will be 18 months apart.


so far, i don't feel pregnant at all. which i consider a very good thing! because i think any "feeling pregnant" are all bad things.

and i love love love being pregnant, so hopefully this round will be just as great as the last!

my maternity clothes did not have much time stowed away in the top of the closet!

break out the tums, prenatal vitamins, and tylenol pm -- it's baby time!

just because

well, i would like to blog once a week, and i have so far this year, so this week needs a post!

i think the reason my posts are so few and far between is because i over think them, want lots of pictures, and then i'm like, i don't have time to sit down for an hour to do a post!

rather than, hmm..how about 10 minutes to talk about what we did today, so i can remember all the details of our simple life (or something like that).

so today..

jillian woke up at 6:30 to eat, which sounds really early, but get this..

she goes back to sleep immediately for a few hours, and today she slept until 11!

ELEVEN!

oh glorious day!

that's not the norm, she usually gets up at 9:30ish (which i'm still thankful for).

i think she's going through a growth spurt because all she wants to do is eat and sleep!

after waking up at 11, she went down for a 2 hour nap at 12:30. then another nap at 4!

so it was a pretty nice, relaxing, get a little crafting day for me!

the times she was awake, she was either eating or climbing! the girl is a monkey!

yesterday, she climbed into a laundry basket, onto a rocking doll cradle, and onto her chair. all without touching the ground!

kyle then came home from work, which is always the highlight of our day.

we went to dinner with kyle's parents, then went to wal mart for them to buy jillie some toys. (i guess that's what grandparents do!)

then we ended our night tucking J into bed, watching the office, doing laundry and just hanging out. a good day all in all!

and because i just can't fight the feeling to post a picture --


she can just pop right to her feet without even pulling up, and can stand there for awhile. but the girl refuses to take any steps. i guess she knows she can crawl faster.

{and sorry for an incredibly boring, informative post! haha}

8 & 9 months!

we're doing these 2 months together because i put the 8 month post off long enough that it just had to be melded with 9 months!




jillian has now been out in the world longer than she was inside me! that is so wild to think about!

she is still wild, crazy, and sweet as can be.

and, not that i am partial, but is getting cuter and cuter!

her stats?

17 lbs {10th percentile}
27 inches long {25th percentile}

* she just got her first tooth this week! {i didn't think she'd ever have teeth, but i was ok with that, because her gummy smile is just too cute!}


* this week she also had double ear infections and RSV -- not a fun week, but we're getting past it now!

* she walks like crazy if she can hold onto anything that will slide across the floor - toy, box, chair, etc.

* she can stand without holding onto anything for like 30 seconds, and can even drink a bottle when doing it, but i think she is just showing off!

* she is such a little ham! she will do something and then just look at us, waiting for a laugh! {and most of the time she gets it!}


* we cannot keep her out of the trashcan! which is gross and annoying! she'll pull it over in the kitchen and dump it all out. her only flaw - ha!

* her favorite thing to do? probably climb in and out of her chair or up and down stairs.

* yes, she has mastered going up and down stairs!


* for the past couple of months she has been sleeping so great! we just lay her down and she goes right to sleep without a peep. but with her being sick this past week, sleeping has been a challenge, so we're trying to get back in the swing of that.

* she loves any and every other baby or kid! if we're at a restaurant, she we'll spot them several tables away and just stare at them.

* her cousins? she loves them and just follows all the older ones around, thinking she is a toddler!


i'm kinda wondering if i'll be talking about walking in the next post. i think i will be ok either way. as long as she doesn't start running first!
