new car!

we bought a new car tonight! i'm so excited!

kyle got home from work, and we were going to go to rockwall to eat because we hadn't been on a date in a while. kyle's been emailing back and forth with a salesman from rockwall ford, so we decided to just stop and look at the car he was trying to sell us.

well it had sold on saturday =( we were actually going to go look at it saturday, after the quinlan flea market but we got a flat tire (refer back to previous post). so we were kinda sad the one we really wanted had sold but..

we got a newer, much nicer car for a better deal!! so i am a happy camper.

we got there at 6pm and did not drive away till 10:30pm!! remember we were going on a dinner date? well, that got postponed and we ended up eating dinner at steak and shake around 11!

so i would post a picture of our really cute ford escape, but i'm very tired. maybe one tomorrow.

and if anyone is interested in a 2000 pontiac grand am, just let us know! =)

**tire update**
my dad talked to the dude that closed his tire business. and he is actually going to have to pay someone to haul off all the tires. so we did him a great favor. just in case you were wondering =)

spell check anyone?

only at the quinlan flea market, do you find a sign that spells miscellaneous quite like this!
yes, we went to the quinlan flea market today.
it was not quite as "quinlanitey" as i thought it might be! no offense to quinlan peeps. i have several friends from quinlan. but you know who you special ones are!

we actually had a lot of fun. i bought a $2 picture holder thing, and that was our big purchase of the day.

it was a great day, till on the way home we had a flat tire. we pulled over in a closed down tire shop.

ironic?

we got all the tire changing stuff out of the trunk, and didn't have the lug nut wrench. bummer.

don't worry, our dads saved the day.

the tire that was on our car was ruined, and there was a big pile of old tires that the guy who closed his business left there.

well, if you know my father, you know what happens next. he goes over to the pile and the first tire he looked at matched our tires exactly. he knew it was a sign from God!

so we took the tires to wal-mart to get it put on our car and got a brand newish tire for just a $12 fix!!

(don't worry, we're not thieves. dad knows the guy who owned the shop, so he's going to call him and see if he wants anything for the tire. conscience: cleared)

but back to the quinlan flea market...i recommend it for an entertaining saturday afternoon outing!

oh adelle..

on saturday night, heidi and brent were going to frisco and we're going to be home late so, andrew and adelle spent the night with us. we had so much fun, and they keep us laughing all the time!
saturday, we took them to pizza hut for dinner, rented a movie, and built a fort in the living room to watch the movie. you know, being cool aunt and uncle.
well, sunday morning, they woke us up at 6:30 for church (that starts at 9:15, mind you). it was so funny, they popped in our room and andrew was already completely dressed for church. he was ready to go!
well, we watched tv, and ate breakfast, then i got the kids completely ready to go. i went back to my room to get ready, and adelle said she was going into our "guest bedroom" to read. that's where our bookshelf is with almost all of our books. there's a few children's books that she knows are there, so i assume that's what she is reading.
i hear her yell from the room, "oh, this is my favorite book! i love it! can i take this home!?"
so i tell kyle to go see what she wants to take home, because i would most likely not care.
kyle walks in to her laying on the bed reading none other, but..
haha! maybe heidi and brent did want her to bring that one home!?

you never know with that girl!!

hmm..

well, this is just a post because i haven't posted anything in close to a year! ok, maybe not that long.

i'm here laying awake in bed at 2 am because i've started working nights again and we all know the lovely sleep cycles that comes with that! i actually didn't think i was going to do so bad. i came home from work and was in bed by 7:15 then woke up at 4 pm. kyle and i ate dinner and went to a bible study and were home by 8:30ish and i was actually tired! so excited. we were just vedging out and i fell asleep on the couch!! only to wake up at midnight wide awake!! of course. so here i am.

this weather. yuck. although we really need the rain. our grass was a lovely brown hue, and we're already seeing some green! i should actually be very thankful for this nasty weather, because it makes it very easy to sleep during the day! and i get to wear rain boots! that's always fun!

heidi told me the other day she was working on birthday invitations for adelle's birthday (april 17th) and adelle said, "i don't need all those people at my birthday party".
heidi, a little confused, said "you mean, you don't want all your friends at your party?"
adelle, "no, i just need one person".
heidi, "well, who is that one person?".
adelle, "aunt KK". (oh yeah!!)
heidi, "so you don't want anyone else there?"
adelle, "well, kyle can come too".

haha, that just brings such great joy to my soul =) sorry everyone else, but you're not invited!

soo i guess that's all the exciting news i have. and man was it boring. i stooped to talking about the weather!

maybe something exciting will happen in our lives some time soon.

i'll let you know!

we have privacy!!

when we first looked into buying our house, i said the first major money spender is going to be on a privacy fence!! our backyard is not in an ideal, say hi to the neighbors, spot. if we lived in a quaint little neighborhood like you see on tv, we wouldn't have to do this.

well, let me start over. we don't know many of our surrounding neighbors (i know, we're bad). we're not even sure if some of the houses have people living in them! but we love our neighborhood.

the reason we desperately needed a privacy fence is because our backyard backed up to the hospital administration and home health building. and the main hospital right right next door. so i was feeling a little exposed to my coworkers.

and now, there is a no smoking policy any where on hospital campus. so where does everyone come to smoke?

standing right up against our fence.

lovely.

so you can imagine how it was a little awkward to be out in the backyard and have people standing right there looking at you.

well, no more!!

we are privacied!!

and every night since then, we have spent out in the backyard. we've had s'mores in our firepit, eaten dinner, watched a movie outside. we're loving it!!

our fathers and brothers were life savers!! they spent two straight days here digging holes, setting posts, and giving us a beautiful fence!!

thanks guys!! we owe yall big time.

so after the fence was up, we had to clean up the backyard. the yard was completely full of dirt dug up for the fence posts. and this isn't normal dirt. its solid as a rock black clay dirt. it took kyle and i several hours to get it all up, but its beautiful now =)
lola helped in the dirt moving process.kyle and lola laying down on the job.

on a side note, when all the dirt and lumber scraps were still in the backyard, adelle went out there and said "oh my, this is horrible!! who did this to your yard!?!?" i said, "kyle and the guys did to build us a new fence. do you like it?" she then looked up and said, "oh that's lovely."
not a normal almost 3 year old.

so, thanks again guys for all the help. we're loving it!

Happy Valentines Day!

i love valentines day!

i know people say its just a ploy to make money, but i still love it.

we went to Perry's in downtown dallas for our valentines dinner and had a lot of fun. kyle did a great job picking out everything. and got me flowers!! such a great husband.
me and my flowers =)

we decided not to do big gifts and instead, put in a privacy fence!! woohoo. we're very excited about this.

so on the way home i was really tired. and cold. i used the windshield visor thing for a blanket and fell asleep. apparently kyle thought this was humorous.

jeffrey..

i love you so much! we've been married 8 months today!! i wouldn't choose anyone else to spend each day with!! you're my favorite =)

another lola story

i promise i am not a weird dog person. at all.

i'm not a "oh my gosh i love my dog like my baby"

i barely like dogs.

kyle had to beg me to agree to get lola.

this dog just keeps us either laughing or cussing.

so the latest..

last night, we decided to let lola sleep free in the house, not in the crate. this is a first time thing.

mainly because we were already in bed and didn't want to get back up to put her away.

she also has metal tags on so we hear every move.

all night long we did not hear a sound. she stayed on the couch all night (which i'm not crazy about, but if she behaves i'm ok). so i get up at 5:45 for work and she is still on the couch. has not moved one inch. well it's dark in the house. so she gets up and goes straight outside to go to the bathroom.

i'm praising her the whole time. thinking its such a miracle she behaved this well.

i'm running a little late so i have my bags and keys in my hands and as i am walking out the door i go thru the living room and look at the couch. oh my..

you would not believe what happened.

our sweet puppy had gone into heat ON MY COUCH!

i did not have one minute to spare so i just told kyle what happened and ran out the door.

our couches are fabric, so yes it soaked in.

no, you cannot take the covers off to wash.

and no you cannot flip the cushions.

bummer.

we've washed it out with hydrogen peroxide, and we're waiting for it to dry to see what it will look like for real.

maybe we'll just have to get new furniture =)
