andrew and dellie hard at work

andrew and adelle, my niece and nephew are going to be our ring bearer and flower girl in just a few short weeks. andrew is 4 and adelle is 2, and they think their jobs are serious stuff! (well andrew is at least. dellie just thinks its fun to wear a dress and throw flowers while screaming!) heidi (my sister/their mom) says they have been practicing religiously, she said the other day she was in the kitchen and andrew ran in urgently and said, "mom, give me your wedding rings, quick!". heidi replied, "my wedding rings are very expensive, you can't play with them." andrew says, "but it is very important! we are practicing for the wedding!". so..heidi made andrew two wedding rings out of pipe cleaners, then followed him into the living room where he was carrying them around on a throw pillow while adelle threw flowers all around the room. i'm glad we have a ring bearer and flower girl that take their job so seriously! we'll see if all their practice really pays off on the big day!!

offically SUMMER!

the kids came over for the first swim of the summer! it was actually for mother's day! (so this is a little late!) i love summer! it is definitely my favorite time of year! i could spend all day, every day outside, and don't even get me started on the beach! love it! the pool will suffice for now, though!
adelle decided that she wanted to wear her butterfly wings! so cute.here andrew was saying, "they just aren't biting today" haha

he wanted a picture of himself jumping off the diving board.

not sure what adelle is doing here. she loves all the swimming accessories, but only wanted one arm floaty.
this is dellie's favorite spot by the pool. she'll sit there forever just filling her bucket up with water!
here adelle is practicing being a flower girl! this is her practice basket, because her white basket will not stay white for long! each time she threw flowers she would scream and clap. she hasn't totally figured out how to walk and throw at the same, but it's all still in the works.

we played this "game" over and over. she'll be a great flower girl! or the cutest, at least!

so yes..i am very very glad it's summer! hot sunny days, lying by the pool..nothing beats it!!

home sweet home

I moved into the apartment that kyle and i will live in after we get married. (kyle will obviously move in later!) we've gotten everything moved in, but its definitely still all in the works. the walls are still pretty bare, but we're working on it. kyle has done a wonderful job hanging everything up for me, and some times re-hanging when i change my mind =) thanks dear.
here is the living room/kitchen seen from the front door.
this is the living room from the kitchen..like i said..the walls are still pretty bare.

here's the kitchen in the works. right now its pretty much just space to pile things we haven't found a spot for!

and the other side..

here's our bed to be! the wrong parts/hardware were in the box so my dad had to make a quick trip to lowe's to get the bed all put together. it took a "jeff jones rig", but it works! thanks dad!

here is the dresser in our room. we found this dresser on the side of the road and it was literally falling apart! with my dad's help, we "reinforced" it, then gave it a new paint job and new hardware. i think it turned out pretty cute!

so long nursing school!

So this is a little late (i'm a bad blogger)..
I graduated from nursing school on May 7th, and now I'm officially a nurse! Well, after i pass boards! For nursing graduations, they have a special "Pinning Ceremony". It's a tradition, and it's very different from other graduations. The graduates are pinned by someone "special" to them. I chose my parents to do the deed. Then at the end of the ceremony, the graduates light their "Nightingale Lamps" as they recite the nurse's pledge. Like I said..very different than other graduations!
Here are pictures from the night!

This is right after my parents pinned me.

This is super blurry, but this is me holding my "Nightingale Lamp"
Kyle and I after the ceremony.

us with my parents...i wouldn't have made it without any of them!!

My oldest sister, Heidi, was able to make it. She's been a nurse
for several years now! I'm following in her footsteps!

Mom and I..thanks for all your help!
The next day was the traditional cap and gown graduation. Blinn apparently thought it was a good idea to have electric blue gowns..so just change the pictures to black and white and no one will know!!

So we were having a hard time getting a good picture with my parents. This actually the best one! Unfortunately mom looks scared, I look awkward, and dad is laughing. oh well. good times!
